The Doonbeg Seafood Festival will take place from July 26th to July 28th 2013.
This years Festival will be opened by the talented Eurovision Winner Niamh Kavanagh on Friday the 26th at 8.15 pm.
The Culinary talented Chef Michel Nichan will feature as this years Celebrity Chef,visiting fron The East Coast of America.
Nischan can be found writing award-winning cookbooks,making television appearances or otherwise using his warm,generous personality to enhance the well-being and culinary accountability of the industry and beyond.
The Festival, for the first time, will include a Queen of the Sea Competition.
Events include Heritage Walk,Dog Show,Currach racing, Duck Race, Farmers Market and Vintage Rally, amongst other activities. The festival has something for everyone from foodies to families, couples to children.
Children can enjoy pony and trap rides, childrens activities, Treasure Hunt, Childrens Sport and much more.
The festival, which is organized by the residents of Doonbeg, reflects the great local fishing tradition with the emphasis on seafood in the local restaurants in the area. The village of Doonbeg has a history of promoting successful festivals with the Doonbeg Jazz Festival and The Willie Keane Memorial major highlights in West Clare.
