The Doonbeg Seafood Festival will take place from July 15th – 17th 2011.
The Festival will be officially opened by musician and former Eurovision winner Paul Harrington who will also feature on stage in one of the Doonbeg Village Pubs on Friday evening.
Throughout the weekend the festival will feature cooking demonstrations from both local and international chefs. Four chefs will offer their talents on Saturday and five on Sunday. Events include Curragh racing, and vintage rally, amongst other activities. The festival has something for everyone from foodies to families, couples to children.
Children can enjoy pony and trap rides, puppet shows, face painting and a crab fishing competition.
The festival, which is organized by the people of Doonbeg, reflects the great local fishing tradition and the emphasis on seafood in the local restaurants in the area. The village of Doonbeg has a history of promoting successful festivals with the Doonbeg Jazz Festival, a major highlight in West Clare.
